Privacy Policy
Wamo is a private space for two people. This policy explains what we store, why, and the controls you have.
The short version: your data belongs to you two, we don't sell it, and we don't show ads.
What we collect
Your email address and display name, used to sign you in and pair you with your partner, and your phone's time zone, so the two of you agree on when a new day starts.
Daily answers, reflection responses, quiz answers, decisions, dreams, date-deck picks, lists, wishlist items, key dates, memories including any photos you attach, shared expenses, the little facts you record about yourself (like favorites and sizes), nudges, and reactions. Visible to you and your paired partner only.
Personal notes and to-dos, and any expense you mark private. Protected by database-level access rules so that only your account can read them. Your partner cannot.
The optional shared cycle reminder dates and your daily mood entries. Stored to power the gentle countdown and the shared mood board, shared only with your paired partner. Never sold, never used for advertising.
Native app only, and only with your permission. Used solely to deliver notifications such as your partner answered. Notifications are sent through Expo's push service.
If you answer that optional question during setup. Used only to understand which channels reach people. You can skip it.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use your relationship content to train AI models.
- We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your browsing history.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, over encrypted connections. Photos you attach to a memory are stored in the app's private storage and reached through links that expire. Access is scoped per couple by row-level security rules, which is the same mechanism that keeps your private notes and private expenses out of your partner's app.
Your controls
One tap, from either Remember, Stats, Export data, or You, Settings, Privacy, Export your data. The file is a single JSON document holding your daily answers, memories, wins, dreams, decisions, reflections, lists, key dates, expenses, moods, cycle dates and private notes. Photos appear as links, the image files themselves are not bundled into the download. Photo links in the file stop working after seven days.
Private expenses and personal notes can be changed or deleted by you at any time.
You can delete your account in the app at any time, under You, Settings, Account actions, Delete my account, or email us at the address below and we will do it for you. Your account, your private notes and private expenses, and everything else only you could see are deleted straight away, along with your answers, reflections, moods, cycle dates and expenses. Memories, list items and other things you added to your shared space stay there for your partner if they still use Wamo. When the last of you leaves, the whole shared space is deleted, photos included.
Permissions we ask for
Only when you choose to attach a photo to a memory.
Only when you choose to snap a new photo for a memory instead of picking an existing one.
Only to deliver couple activity you would expect, a reveal, a reflection reminder, a nudge.
What the App Store label says
The same list, in Apple's words, so the two documents agree.
The optional cycle dates and your moods. Wamo does not read Apple Health.
A user ID, and a device ID, which is the push token.
Product interaction, which is the one optional question about how you found Wamo.
Purchase history: the expenses you log in Budget.
Other financial info: the expenses you log in Budget, and any savings targets you set.
Children
Wamo is intended for couples and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will note the new effective date here.
